This is an independent, unofficial site about Inkling 2 Small, the model Thinking Machines Lab released on Nov 5, 2026. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Thinking Machines Lab. All specification and benchmark data is read automatically from official and third-party sources; the explanatory text is written by hand.
Why it exists
A model launch produces a lot of writing that is true on the day and wrong a week later. Prices move, licences change, benchmark tables get revised, and the thing everyone is waiting for — downloadable weights — either arrives or does not. This site is an attempt at the opposite: one page per question, refreshed from the sources, with the date it was checked.
The model is new and moving. Where the site does not know something, it says so rather than filling the gap. Where it estimates, it shows the arithmetic. Where a figure is vendor-reported, it says that too.
How the data is collected
A scheduled job reads 11 sources every six hours: the official model card, the announcement post, the Tinker model catalogue, the vendor blog and newsroom, Artificial Analysis, Hacker News, and Hugging Face. Each source is parsed, validated against a schema, and committed to the site's repository as JSON. The pages are generated from those files at build time.
A source that fails is marked degraded and the last good snapshot is kept. The sources page shows the current state of each one, including its error message when it is broken. Nothing is silently interpolated.
What this site is not
- It is not official, and does not claim to be. The vendor's own pages are always linked.
- It does not run its own evaluations. Every score here was reported by someone else.
- It does not mirror vendor articles or mirror Hacker News threads. Excerpts and links only.
- It does not have early access, inside information, or a model to test. The hardware figures are arithmetic on published specs, not measurements.
Corrections
If a number here disagrees with the source it cites, the source is right and this site is wrong — that is a bug worth reporting. Corrections are most useful when they name the page, the figure, and the upstream URL that contradicts it. Inkling 2 Small is a fast-moving subject, so the date on each page matters when making a comparison.
